Philosophy
To educate scholars, designers, researchers, and professionals to create innovations and body of knowledge or new theories for Design Arts at an international level.
Significance
The Doctor of Philosophy Program in Design Arts is organized for the study of Art and Design, and to acknowledge people with expertise in Design Arts research and with creativity and a great aesthetic sense in both academic and professional areas. The Ph.D. students are expected to gain international recognition in diverse cultural atmospheres.
Students should be able to serve the growth of business organizations and fulfill Thailand’s National, Economic and Social Development Plan in human resources, making for an individual who is able to develop high capabilities. The Ph.D. program will provide the foundations for future growth of educational and business sectors, as well as serve the government’s policy of developing high quality citizens. For the cooperation with other universities, the program is in the process of cooperating with Liaoning University, People Republic of China; University Teknologi MARA, Malaysia; and National Institute of Design (NID), India.

Principle of research methodology, process, format, case study, selected topic and workshop in advanced Design Arts research.

Experience and knowledge enhancement of aesthetics, art history, contemporary design and design trend; research thesis proposal preparation, research execution by exchange of ideas.

Special design topics and workshops, academic and article writing, paper presentation, participation in Art & Design Aesthetics International Conference.

Research project dealing with problematic issues; challenges in Art and Design theory, knowledge, methodology and paradigm, professional practice; original pilot design work, theory and new knowledge in specific characteristics of Design Arts.
