MFA in Design Arts (International Program)
Philosophy

Program Objectives
- To create a designer, scholar in art and design with expertise in theories and practice at the international level.
- To produce Master’s degree graduates with advanced design experience and professional ethics.
- To produce Master’s degree graduates with the potential to enhance the quality of life, society, and professionalism in art and design.
Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
- Able to describe systematically research concept and theories under professional academic and complicated social ethics.
- Implement related creative works and research literatures systematically.
- Criticize concept and research theories into creative, design and art work, with practice skills.
- Verify academic/creative work at international level with decent technology tools.
- Integrate concepts and theories from varied disciplines into design project.
- Convert ideas into the new approach of social creative outcome and national or international standard.
- Present knowledge in group and/or professional individual to public.
Plan A(A-1) Total equivalent to 36 credits
- Required courses (non-credit) 36 credits
- Thesis (equivalent to) 12 credits
- Total equivalent 36 credits
Plan A(A-2) Studied courses total 36 credits
- Required courses 24 credits
- Thesis (equivalent to) 12 credits
- Total 36 credits
Plan B Studied courses total 36 credits and must take the comprehensive examination of knowledge when having at least 30 units of accumulated credits.
- Required courses 30 credits
- Independent Study (equivalent to) 6 credits
- Total 36 credits

Plan A (A-1)
- Bachelor’s Degree graduated in the field of art, design or completed Bachelor Degree in other fields with results related to art and design theory, management.
- Transcript with average GPA at least 2.7
- Obtain potential and/or experience in research project at least 2 years.
In case of the qualifications are not in accordance with 1.1-1.3, the final decision is upon the program committee’s consideration.
Plan A (A-2) and Plan B
- Bachelor’s Degree graduated in any field with results related to art and design, or completed bachelor’s degree with strong research and/or management background.
- Transcript with average GPA at least 2.7
- Obtain an evidence of practice, and/or analysis, critiquing skills. In case of the qualifications are not in accordance with 1.1-1.3, the final decision is upon the program committee’s consideration.
Applicants are required to pass one of the English standard tests:
Applicants are required a minimum A2 level of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) English scoring.
Applicants must possess all qualifications required by the Silpakorn University Regulations on Graduate Study, B.E. 2561, Item 6 (Appendix A) and/or which might be changed afterwards.
