On November 20, 2024, from 09:00 to 10:30 at Room 208, Università degli Studi di Firenze, Florence (DIDA Dipartimento di Architettura at Santa Teresa, Via Della Mattonaia, 8, Firenze), faculty members from the International Program in Design Arts – Ph.D. in Design Arts (DinDA) and M.F.A. in Design Arts (MinDA) presented their research as part of an international academic knowledge exchange. The faculty members participating were Prof. Dr. Eakachat Joneurairatana, Asst Prof. Dr. Jirawat Vongphantuset, Asst. Prof. Dr. Veerawat Sirivesmas, Dr. Rueanglada Punyalikit and Dr. Supawinee Charungkiattikul

The event was held in collaboration with the Dipartimento di Architettura (DIDA) at Università degli Studi di Firenze, with Prof. Dr. Giorgia Giovannetti, Deputy Rector of the University of Florence, presiding over the opening ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by key faculty members: Prof. Dr. Susanna Caccia Gherardini, Dean of DIDA; Prof. Dr. Giuseppe De Luca, Past-Dean of DIDA; Prof. Dr. Giuseppe Lotti, President of the School of Architecture; and Prof. Dr. Alessandra Rinaldi, who served as moderators. In addition, Dr. Anna Maria Caligaris and Dr. Luca Viviani, members of the family of Professor Silpa Bhirasri (Prof. Corrado Feroci / Silpa Bhirasri), were honored to join the event.

Ph.D. students from both Silpakorn University and the University of Florence also attended the lectures. The topics presented were:

– Under the rain (International workshop) by Asst Prof. Dr. Veerawat Sirivesmas

– Bridging Heritage with Modernity in Product Creation by Dr. Rueanglada Punyalikit

– The Journey of Thai Eri Silk by Dr. Supawinee Charungkiattikul

This academic knowledge exchange activity provided a platform for faculty members to present their research, while also contributing to the continuous development of the curriculum and the enhancement of lecturers’ knowledge and skills. It encouraged the application of specialized expertise, providing valuable learning opportunities and good practices to improve teaching and learning processes. Ultimately, this event helped prepare lecturers for future professional success.
